Dear fellow parishioners,
On behalf of
Father Herbert and the vestry, I am writing you a quick note reminding
and encouraging you to attend the annual meting of the Church of Our
Saviour, which is scheduled for this coming Sunday (January 29, 2012).
The meeting
will follow our 10 a.m. service, and our plan is to start promptly at
11 a.m. If you are unable to attend the 10 a.m. service, I hope you can
still attend the meeting. Our goal is for the meeting to conclude by
noon or shortly thereafter, but we will need your help starting on time
and staying on task.
The structure
of the meeting will be the same as in years past. The vestry will
conduct an election to fill three positions on the vestry for 3-year
terms starting on Sunday. We have received 3 nominations including
myself, Randi Murdock and Susan Daniels, but will accept additional
nominations from the floor.
As far as
reports go, we will review the church's and committees' work over the
past calendar year, our treasurer will give her report, and Father
Herbert and I will report on this year's Annual Council. After
elections and all other reports are complete, we will receive a report
on our building plans from the Building Committee. This will be a great
opportunity to hear about how the project has evolved since it was
approved in 2009 along with the vestry's plan for fulfilling that
commitment.
I am truly
excited about what God has in store for our church and our community in
2012. Join us. Thanks be to God!
